tropical hardwood tree found throughout south-east Asia.
Teak timber is well known for it's beauty and lasting qualities, and is used to build houses and for furniture making. Shingles made from teak will last 25 years on the roof of a house without any paint or stain.
It is also perfectly suited for carving figures and sculptures.
